Topps announced that 40 copies of each Peter Max Serigraph insert (see above) were signed by Max but are NOT serial-numbered. Max signed the cards in black ink ''before'' the glossy coating was slathered on the card, making counterfeit signatures easy to identify when in hand. | |||

Description
1997 Topps Gallery is a 180-card set released exclusively to hobby stores in the late summer of 1997. The set is divided into four themes: Veterans, Prospects, Rising Stars and Young Stars, each with its own unique design.
Each card is foil-stamped and printed on 24-point card stock with a high-gloss film.
Distribution
24 packs per box, eight cards per pack (MSRP: $4). Hobby only.
