Just released2017 Bowman High Tek is a 56-card set scheduled for release October 25th. Like the Topps High Tek revival product of recent years, all cards are printed on acetate with multiple background variations. As the name suggests, the base set consists exclusively of prospects. Each ten-card box will yield four autographs and a parallel. 2017 National Treasures was released October 25th. All cards are autographs or game-used memorabilia cards. Each eight-card box will contain one "booklet." 2017 Topps Archives Signature Series was released October 25th. As with previous editions of this product, each box contains one sealed autographed buyback. Unlike previous iterations, all cards and autographs are of active players. 2017 Topps Diamond Icons was released October 18th. Each ten-card box will yield seven autographs, a relic, and two autographed relics. All cards are serial-numbered to 25 copies or fewer. 2017 Topps Heritage Minor League is a 220-card set released October 18th. Each 24-pack Hobby box will yield one relic and one autograph. 2017 Topps Update was released October 18th. 2017 Panini Contenders Draft Picks is a 59-card set released October 4th. As the name suggests, the product focuses on, but is not exclusive to, players selected in the 2017 MLB Draft. The product features players primarily in their college uniform, and is licensed by The Collegiate Licensing Company. The product does NOT have any active Major League players and as such, despite having an MLBPA license, is not licensed by the MLB Players Association. Each pack contains an autograph. 2017 Bowman Chrome is a 100-card set, supplemented by a 100-card Prospects set, released September 29th. Each 12-pack Hobby box (two, six-pack mini boxes) will yield two autographs, two 2016 Arizona Fall League inserts, and one Hobby-exclusive Prospect Shimmer Refractor parallel. New for 2017 are HTA Choice boxes which contain three autographs. HTA Choice boxes will NOT contain any base cards or inserts; just autographs. 2017 Topps Fire is a 200-card set released exclusive to Target stores the week of September 27th. 2017 Topps Gold Label is a 300-card set released September 20th. As with the Gold Label sets of the late-90s, the set features 100 different players on three different "Class" cards: 1, 2, and 3. Unfortunately, the holo-foil plastic cardstock the brand was known for in the 90s was not used -- regular paper stock was used instead. Each box will yield one Framed Autograph. 2017 Triple Threads is a 100-card set released September 20th. As usual, each seven-card Hobby pack will contain three base cards, two parallels, one triple Relic card serial-numbered to 36 copies or fewer, and an autograph serial-numbered to 99 copies or fewer. 2017 Topps Definitive Collection was released August 30th. An all "hit" product, each eight-card box will yield six on-card autographs and two Relics. 2017 Panini Immaculate is a 138-card set released August 16th. Each base card is serial-numbered to 99 copies. Each six-card box will contain five autographs/game-used cards. 2017 Topps Clearly Authentic will be released August 16th. Much like the Topps Archives Signature Series brands, each box will contain one autographed card in a sealed magnetic case. Each card is signed on an acetate card that uses the design of the 2017 Topps Baseball flagship set -- but with a different photograph. 2017 Topps Chrome is a 200-card set released August 2nd, 2017. As usual, each Hobby box will yield two autographs, with Hobby Jumbo boxes having five. The usual multi-colored galaxy of Refractor parallels are included. 2017 Donruss Optic is a 175-card chromium-stock rendition of the 2017 Donruss base set, and was released July 19th. The final ten cards in the base set are autographed. Each Hobby box will yield two autographs with each pack yielding an insert or parallel. Randomly seeded "Hot Boxes" (roughly every third Hobby box) will yield either five autographs in a box, or a serial-numbered parallel in every pack. Optic will include the first cards of Mickey Mantle in four years. 2017 Topps Allen & Ginter is a 350-card set, released the week of July 19th. As usual, each 24-pack Hobby box will include three of the following: Autographs, Relics, Rip Cards, or A&G Originals. 2017 Stadium Club is a 300-card set that was released July 12th. Each 16-pack Hobby box will yield two autographs. 2017 Topps Tier One was released exclusively to Hobby outlets June 30th, a couple of weeks later than in previous years. Each box will continue to yield one Relic and two autographs. As usual, there is no "base set" in the conventional sense. It's all hits all the time. 2017 Topps Museum Collection is a 100-card set released June 21st -- two months later than it's tradition early-season release. Each pack will contain either an autograph or a relic. Each four-pack box will yield the following:
2017 Topps Series Two is a 350-card set that was released June 15th. 2017 Finest is a 125-card set, released by Topps on June 7th. After controversially (and unsuccessfully) distributing 2016 Finest exclusively on their e-commerce website, the 2017 edition returns as a Hobby-only product. Each box will yield two autographs. 2017 Topps Archives is a 300-card set, released May 31st. As has been this brand's trademark, one third of the base set is done in the style of the 1960 Topps set (which was the basis of 2009 Topps Heritage), one third as 1982 Topps (which was used as one of the designs in 2013 Topps Archives), and the final third 1992 Topps. Topps' initial solicitation for 2017 Archives promised "wide-ranging improvements," and one such improvement (and a major one, if that) was the subtraction of "high-number" short-prints to the base set. In the previous two years, Archives was solicited as a 300 card base set without short-prints, only for Topps to deliver a final product with SPed base cards (30 in 2015 and ten in 2016). Another "addition-by-subtraction" improvement was the elimination of a celebrity/movie tie-in; replaced by a 23-card reprint insert of all of Derek Jeter's Topps Baseball base cards. Each 24-pack Hobby box will yield two autographs and two Derek Jeter Retrospective inserts. 2017 Topps Pro Debut is a 200-card Minor League set released May 26th, 2017. Each 24-pack Hobby box will yield two Relics and two autographs. |
