Description

The 2004 Topps Cracker Jack set, based on the 1914 Cracker Jack set, consists of 250 total cards; 197 base cards, 3 base variations, 40 short prints and 10 short print variations. The design is the same, however the size of the cards have been resized to today's standard format. Several players from the original set are also reprinted in this set including Nap Lajoie, Bert Shotton, and Branch Rickey. Some of cards backs are upside-down, a tribute of the original 1914 cards as they made to fit inside a special album.

Distribution

Hobby Boxes contained 24 packs of eight cards. Each pack included one mini parallel and a "Secret Suprise" pack. In addition, each sealed Hobby box came with a bag of Cracker Jack.

Variations

These three cards pay tribute to the original 1915 Cracker Jacks, by misspelling the last names of three players. All three are produced in the same quantity as the regular base card, and are considered part of the short-set.

Short Print Variations

These ten variations are short-printed and are available in the same quantity as the other 40 base-set SPs. Three of the variations show a different pose, four have different card numbers, and the other three show players who had just been traded in the uniforms of their new team.

Each pack contained a mini-sized card measuring the same size as the original 1915 Cracker Jack cards. Every one of the 197 base cards, 40 SPs, three variations and 10 SP variations, is available in the following parallels:

Stickers

Each wax pack came with a "Secret Suprise," which would yield either an autograph, relic, or a sticker parallel. The stickers are virtually identical to the one-per-pack minis in both size and appearance.
