Description
2001 MLB Showdown Pennant Run is a 175-card expansion of the 2001 MLB Showdown trading card game. It was released in Mid-July, around three months after the first series. The set features 148-player cards and 27 foil superstar cards that were short printed at one in three packs.
Distribution
1st Edition: 24 packs per box, nine cards per pack (MSRP: $2.99).
Starter Packs: 12 starter decks per box, 75 cards per deck.

Ichiro Promos
WotC created three different promo cards of Ichiro Suzuki, and distributed them at three separate fan conventions: The 2001 National Sports Collectors Convention in Cleveland, 2001 GenCon in Milwaukee (the largest fan convention for board and card games), and at the 2001 Origins Game Fair in Columbus, Ohio.
Each card is an ordinary Ichiro base card, but with each fan convention's logo on the front.
