1999 Ultimate Victory
Description
The 1999 Ultimate Victory set was produced by Upper Deck and released exclusively to The Hobby in late 1999. Ultimate Victory was UD's first attempt at a Topps Chrome-like parallel brand.
The base set is 180 cards, all based on the design of that year's Victory Baseball set. The first 120 cards make up the short-set, and there are two 30-card, short-printed subsets: Rookie 99 and McGwire Magic. The stated odds of finding a Rookie 99 or McGwire Magic are 1:4/packs.
Among the key rookie cards: Josh Beckett, Freddy Garcia, Tim Hudson, Alfonso Soriano, Pat Burrell, and Rick Ankiel.
Distribution
24 packs per box, five cards per pack.
