Gem Mint: A card that is virtually perfect. Until the emergence of grading, the term "gem" mint was unheard of. PSA grades on a ten-point scale with whole-number grades, meaning "Mint" is a PSA 9 and "Gem Mint" is a PSA 10. BGS also grades on a ten-point with half-point grades. On their scale, a "Mint" card is BGS 9, a "Gem Mint" is BGS 9.5, while a BGS 10 is considered "Pristine."
