Whale: Also referred to as a "high roller," a collector who spends large amounts of money (often hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars per week) on wax. Most "high-end" products, such as Topps Triple Threads and Upper Deck Exquisite, are geared specifically towards whales, who often buy such products by the case.

While whales represent a minuscule fraction of collectors, and only account for a small percentage of Hobby revenues, they can have a major effect on the bottom lines of local Hobby stores.

In 2007, Upper Deck created the "Diamond Club," an invitation-only club catered to whales. Membership in the Diamond Club is limited to only 125 members, and all members must apply annually via their local Hobby shop.
