Description

1914 Cracker Jack (ACC: E-145) is a 144-card set issued in boxes of the popular snack. The set features players, managers, and one owner from the American and National Leagues, as well as the upstart Federal League. Each card measures approximately 2 1/4" by 3". The company claims to have printed 10 million cards as noted on the backs -- which works out to around 69,500 copies of each card.

1915 Cracker Jack (ACC: E-145-1) is 176 cards. 139 of the 144 1914 series cards were reprinted (errors, and all) for the 1915 set, with an additional 32 cards exclusive to the 1915 series. The main determinant between the '14 and '15 sets is, since the 1915 set was designed to be displayed in an album, the back sides are printed upside down. The custom album was also available for "50 Coupons or one Coupon and 10c. in coin or stamps." (One coupon was inserted into each Cracker Jack box.) That, and the '15 cards mention the set being 176 cards.

In addition to boxes of Cracker Jack, the 1915 series was also distributed in what could be described as a "factory set." All 176 cards could be had for "100 Cracker Jack Coupons, or one Coupon and 25c." Because of this, the '15s are noticeably easier to find than the '14s.

Distribution

One card per box of Cracker Jack.
