2020 Topps X

From BaseballCardPedia.com

Description

2020 Topps X is a series of eight separate sets "curated" (Topps' words, not ours) by a selected player/fixture. All eight sets were exclusive to topps.com.

Pete Alonso

The Topps x Pete Alonso set was released August 25th and was available for a ten day period on topps.com -- or until all 3000 allotted sets sold out (which they did). Each box, which retailed for $60 contained an entire 20-card base set plus six "insert" sets. Every other set would yield a bonus autograph.

Autographs

It's unclear what the Autograph checklist is, as Topps never bothered to release one (Thanks Topps!). Those autographs that have emerged are parallels of the base set. Each is serial-numbered to 50 copies and also available in the following parallels.

  • Blue (serial-numbered to 31 copies)
  • Red (serial-numbered to 21 copies)
  • Orange (serial-numbered to eight)
  • Gold (one-of-one)

Given that only 628 Collector's Sets were sold, we can assume that the checklist is only six or seven cards deep.
