1999 Flair Showcase box

Description

1999 Flair Showcase is a 432-card set released by Fleer. Like with previous Flair Showcase sets, each of the 144 players in the set were featured on different levels/"Rows", which each Row featuring a unique front design:

• Row 3: "Power" design
• Row 2: "Passion" design
• Row 1: "Showcase" design

The Row 3 cards were easiest to find, while the Row 1 cards were the toughest.

Each "Row" was then subdivided into

• Showpiece: Black and white background, portrait picture, yellow banner
• Showtime: Team-colored background, full-body picture, grey banner
• Showdown: Team-colored wave background, full-body picture, silver banner

Each of the 144 players in the set had one card in each of the three rows, with a specifically assigned cardback design per Row, meaning each player had 3 base cards total. The "Seat" number on the back represented the card number in the set.

Fleer distributed a 3-card promotional set to dealers and the Hobby prior to the release of 1999 Flair showcase. The 3 promos featured Scott Rolen on each of the three Rows and featured "PROMOTIONAL SAMPLE" diagonally across the front and back.
