Description

1995 Emotion was a 200-card set released by Fleer/SkyBox in November, 1995. The set was based on the popular basketball card set of the same name, released earlier in the year by Skybox, before it was acquired by Fleer later that year. Due to MLB licensing restrictions, Fleer/Skybox's name only appears in small fine print on the back of each card (base or insert).

This set was the genesis of Fleer/Skybox's high-end brand that evolved into the "E-X" brands that were produced until their bankruptcy in 2005.

Cards in this first-year brand had thick card stock with borderless fronts. On the front of each player card is an emotive word that reflected their nickname, acted as a description of that player's persona, or described the emotion that player was displaying in the photo. Like most Fleer products of the era, the checklist is arranged alphabetically by team with AL preceding NL.

The notable Rookie Card in the set was Hideo Nomo.

Distribution

36 packs per box, eight cards per pack (MSRP: $4.99).
