Description
1973 Topps Comics/Pin-Ups are a series of two 24 "card" test issues. The checklist for both sets is identical.
Each Comic measures approximately 4 5/8" by 3 7/16", are subtitled "Career Highlights of ...", and feature six or seven panels of information about the particular player. One Comic was included in each pack of Topps' "Baseball Comic Bubble Gum."
The Pin-Ups are quite scarce. Each measures approximately 3 7/16" by 4 5/8" and are very colorful with a thick white border. The thin-paper pin-ups contain a facsimile autograph on the front of the card. One Pin-Up was included in each pack of Topps' "Baseball Pin-Ups Bubble Gum."
Neither set is MLB licensed and all team logos have been airbrushed away.
