Description
2004 Yankees Fleer Daily News is a ten-card set. The first nine cards were printed as an uncut sheet and inserted into copies of the New York Daily News. Collectors who brought in a sheet and purchased a pack of Fleer baseball cards at a New York Yankee Clubhouse store would receive card #10 in the set of Alex Rodriguez.
Each card is sequentially-numbered "X of 10" on the reverse side. The design of the "cards" is identical to that year's Fleer Tradition set, but with navy blue borders. Unlike similar promotional sets, the sponsor (The Daily News) is not mentioned on the cards.
Since the first nine cards were issued on an uncut sheet, some have attempted to cut out the individual cards. Collectors should be aware of miscut, diamond cut, oversized, and/or undersized hand cut cards.
