	1998 Donruss was a 420-card set released in two series of 170 and 250 cards, respectively - its smallest base set ~~of the decade~~. Similar to the [[1997 Donruss\|previous year]], the second series was officially known as ''Donruss Update'' but with these cards being sequentially numbered as a continuation of Series One, Donruss Update is considered part of the overall 1998 base set. Keeping with the tradition established in [[1994 Donruss\|1994]], each base card featured full-bleed color player photos and a foil-stamped player nameplate and Donruss logo.
