	1998 Bowman once again touted itself as "Home Of The Rookie Card"~~. Indeed~~ it was, out of the 441 cards in the set 115 are rookie cards. ~~Unfortunately~~, ~~quantity did not necessarily equal quality~~. ~~The "best"~~ rookie ~~cards, if you call them that, include Magglio Ordonez, Jimmy Rollins, Carlos Lee, Troy Glaus, & Ramon Ortiz~~.		1998 Bowman once again touted itself as "Home Of The Rookie Card." And indeed it was, out of the 441 cards in the set 115 are rookie cards. For the second straight year, the set was divided into two series of 221 and 220 cards with the production of Series Two cut by as much as 20% over Series One. Also for the second straight year, an additional 221st card was added to the Series One base set to accommodate a New York Yankee rookie pitcher (Orlando Hernandez).

	For the first time, players making their Bowman Debut are marked with a gold Bowman Rookie Card stamp above their name. However, in hindsight most of the players featured as a rookie card went on to have undistinguished careers or never even appeared in a major league game.
