Part of the first generation of "super-premium" baseball card sets (along with Finest and Flair), the set is notable for the Derek Jeter Rookie Card and the die-cut ~~Platinum Power~~ inserts.		1993 SP (By Upper Deck) is a 290 card set released August 23rd, 1993. Part of the first generation of "super-premium" baseball card sets (along with [[1993 Finest]] and [[1993 Flair]]), the set is notable for featuring the first cards with foil-etching on the entire surface of the card front for the foil prospects subset. Further, the Derek Jeter Rookie Card was one of these foil-etched cards and became his most notable RC because of the design and the condition sensitivity of the set.

			The Platinum Power inserts were the first die-cut inserts in the baseball Hobby.
