1986 Drake's is a 37-card set. Unlike in previous years, Topps was not involved in the production of the Drake's set. Also, the cards were printed on the outside of specially-marked packages of Drake's snack cakes. Depending on the product, each box had a panel containing anywhere from two to four cards, requiring the collector to cut the panels up if they wanted the "cards."

Unlike other food issues of the era, this set is fully-licensed.
