	While the rest of the world was intoxicated by the emerging counter culture of psychedelic music, movies, fashion and interior design, the straight-laced establishment, which included major league sports, was still defined by mainstream conservatism. This is clearly evidenced by the drab design and gray colored borders of the 1970 Topps Baseball set. Featuring a total of 720 standard size cards, (2½" by 3½") a handful of subsets can be found in the form of ~~league leaders~~ (#'s 61-72), ~~playoff highlights~~ (#'s 195-202), World Series ~~highlights~~ (#'s 305-310), and All-Stars (#'450-469). The high number ~~series~~ (#'663-720) are slightly more difficult to find as they were printed in smaller quantities.
