1997 Select was a 200-card, two-series set:
*'''Lo-Series''': The 150-card "Lo-Series" set, released in April 1997, contained the first 150 cards in the set and 100 cards featured red foil accents while 50 cards featured blue foil accents. The 50 "Blue" base cards from the Lo-Series were short-printed and seeded at the rate of one-per-pack.
*'''Hi-Series''': The "Hi-Series" was issued in December 1997. Similar to the high-number cards released in the early days of Upper Deck, the 1997 Select Hi-Series re-issued all 150 "Lo-Series" cards and added an additional 50 cards - all exclusive to Hi-Series packs. **One Lo-Series Blue card

This 25-card set, available in both Lo and Hi-Series packs, matched 25 young players with 25 veteran stars on a double-fronted card - the side featuring veteran star featured a full red and silver-gradient foil finish with blue foil stamping while the side featuring the young player featured a non-foiled finish with the same design.

A "Mirror Blue" parallel was also available and featured a full blue and silver-gradient foil card stock with blue foil stamping on both sides of the card.

This 20-card set, available in both Lo and Hi-Series packs, featured the top rookies on silver etched-foil cards. Each card was serial-numbered on the back; however, Pinnacle Brands never publicly announced the print run. These four autographed cards were randomly inserted into Lo-Series packs. Each player signed 3000 copies, except Andruw Jones who signed 2500. None of the autographed cards are serial- or hand-numbered. All autographs were on standard base cards, but with with words "AUTHENTIC SIGNATURE" printed on the reverse side.

This 150-card set also paralleled the entire Lo-Series set only and featured an "Artist's Proof" foil stamp on the card front and a bronze foil finish that replaced the silver foil finish of the base cards. This 25-card set, available in both Lo and Hi-Series packs, matched 25 young players with 25 veteran stars on a double-fronted card - the side featuring veteran star featured a full red and silver-gradient foil finish with blue foil stamping while the side featuring the young player featured a non-foiled finish with the same design.

A "Mirror Blue" parallel was also available and featured a full blue and silver-gradient foil card stock with blue foil stamping on both sides of the card.

This 20-card set, available in both Lo and Hi-Series packs, featured the top rookies on silver etched-foil cards. Each card was serial-numbered on the back; however, Pinnacle Brands never publicly announced the print run. Some collectors believe that cards serial-numbered 0001-1500 were inserted into Lo-Series packs, while 1501-2000 were seeded into the Hi-Series.

These four autographed cards were randomly inserted into Lo-Series packs. Each player signed 3000 copies, except Andruw Jones who signed 2500. None of the autographed cards are serial- or hand-numbered. All autographs were on standard base cards, but with with words "AUTHENTIC SIGNATURE" printed on the reverse side.

1997 Score is a 551-card set released in two series; with cards 1-330 distributed in series one packs and cards 331-550 in series two packs. The 10-card Series one packs and the 12-card Series two packs carried a suggested retail price of $.99 each and were distributed exclusively to retail outlets. Card #551 short-printed (about twice as tough to pull as a basic card), and is available in English (retail packs and factory sets) or Japanese (Hobby Reserve).

Please note that card number 514 was not issued. Both Gary Sheffield and Jim Thome are numbered 515.

Notable Rookie Cards include Brian Giles.

==Premium Stock/Hobby Reserve==

Distributed exclusive to The Hobby, Premium Stock is a "premium" version of the Series One base set. The cards parallel the regular issue set except for a gray border, thicker card stock and a prominent gold foil "Premium Stock" logo on front. Series Two Premium Stock cards were called "Hobby Reserve." Hobby Reserve was printed on a thinner card stock than the Premium Stock cards (but still thicker than regular Score), and did not have a gray border.

==Regional Team==

Sold exclusively at retail stores, these boxes contain 5 cards per pack, 32 packs per box. Each box contained cards of players from the team printed on the outside of the box, i.e. Braves, Dodgers, etc... ===Artist's Proofs===

The Artist Proofs come in two varieties: One featuring a holographic "wave" pattern, and another with a plain gold-foil stamp. It is believed that the plain gold-foil version were only made for the Series One set, and were only available in retail packs. Due to the simplicity of the plain gold-foil stamp, a large batch of fakes entered the market around 1999.

===White-Bordered Artist's Proofs===

Artist's Proofs White Border cards were randomly inserted exclusively into Score Series One retail packs. The cards share the similar "Artist's Proof" logo as seen on the more commonly traded Showcase Series Artist's Proofs. Unlike the silver-foiled Showcase Series Artist's Proofs, however, the White Border cards have plain white stock card fronts - making them easy to misidentify with a basic issue Score card. Please note that Series Two Artist's Proofs do not exist.

This 24-card set is broken into six separate four-card groupings and was part of a contest, randomly inserted into all Series Two packs. Groups contain players from the following teams: 1-4 (Braves), 5-8 (Mariners), 9-12 (Yankees), 13-16 (Dodgers), 17-20 (Indians) and 21-24 (Wild Card). The four players featured within the Wild Card group are from "lesser" teams whom Pinnacle Brands thought had no shot at winning the 1997 World Series.

Hobbyists who held all four cards of the 1997 World Series Champion (or the four Wild Cards if one of the five selected teams did not win) could mail them to Pinnacle for a special framed Gold version of the set. Since the Florida Marlins won the World Series, the four Wild Cards wound up being the winning cards.

Stand and Deliver Gold was limited to 275 sets and came encased in a glass frame. Because of the unusual distribution, Stand and Deliver Gold singles are difficult to find. The Gold cards came in two different flavors, Gold with silver letters and Gold with red letters. The Gold with red letters version is extremely rare.

===Platinum Team Sets===

As part of a promotion, hobbyists who collect all the Gold Rush cards of a particular team in a particular series could then mail in those cards along with a platinum redemption card, which was seeded at the rate of 1:36/packs. In return, the collector would receive a complete Platinum Team Set, and all their Gold Rush cards back. Some of the returned Gold Rush cards came back with holes punched in the shape of the Pinnacle logo. Most did not. It's assumed that Pinnacle was overwhelmed at the number of redemptions and quit punching holes to expedite the process. No Series Two punched Gold Rush cards have been found.

There have been examples of the holes being punched in the lower right hand corner (more common) and in the upper left hand corner with the Pinnacle logo being flipped upside down (less common).

The Platinum Team Set cards are similar to the gold cards except they have sparkling platinum-foil fronts and come in a factory-sealed baggie. The top card is the certificate for the team set. Only 4950 of each platinum team set was produced.

Platinum cards for the checklists do not exist.

Spike Owen appears on the Rockies checklist but he appears in the Angles team set.

John Jaha and Frank Thomas card appear in their team sets (Brewers and White Sox), however they don't appear on their team checklists.

The Mariners checklist incorrectly lists Ken Griffey Jr. as card #1. He's card #437, Series Two, which weren't punched.

===You Trade 'Em===

This skip-numbered 11-card set was available only by redeeming the randomly inserted Score You Trade 'em redemption card. The set features a selection of veteran players that were traded to new teams at the beginning of the 1995 season, but were unable to be depicted in the 1995 Score set due to time constraints. The numbering and card design parallel the corresponding cards within the regular issue 1995 Score set, but these Trade cards feature the players in their new uniforms.

As part of a promotion, hobbyists who collect all the Gold Rush cards of a particular team in a particular series could then mail in those cards along with a platinum redemption card, which was seeded at the rate of 1:36/packs. In return, the collector would receive a complete Platinum Team Set, and all their Gold Rush cards back. Some of the returned Gold Rush cards came back with holes punched in the shape of the Pinnacle logo. Most did not. It's assumed that Pinnacle was overwhelmed at the number of redemptions and quit punching holes to expedite the process. No Series Two punched Gold Rush cards have been found.

There have been examples of the holes being punched in the lower right hand corner (more common) and in the upper left hand corner with the Pinnacle logo being flipped upside down (less common).

=Description=

1992 Score is an 893-card set released in two series of 442 and 451 cards. Like [[1991 Score]], this years edition was subset heavy, including: Prospects (395-424/736-772/814-877), No-Hit Club (425-428/784-787), Highlights (429-430), AL All-Stars (431-440), Dream Team (441-442/883-893), NL All-Stars (773-782), Highlights (783, 795-797), Draft Picks (799-810), and Memorabilia (878-882).

The Memorabilia subset cards all feature items from the famed Barry Halper collection. Halper was a part-owner of Score at the time.

All of the Series Two Rookie Prospects (736-772) can be found with or without the Rookie Prospect stripe.

Rookie Cards in the set include Vinny Castilla and Manny Ramirez.

==Promos==

These 25 5" X 7" "panels" were issued by Score to promote the 1992 Score and Pinnacle sets. Each panel features mock-ups of two Score and two Pinnacle cards.

It should be noted that the panels are not perforated, and the individual cards (which measure the standard 2 1/2" X 3 1/2") are not marked as promos. (Basically, if you cut up a panel into four cards, they'd look like any other Score/Pinnacle base card.

In addition to the 4 card Score/Pinnacle panels, there are 6 known single Score promo cards that were issued. The 1991 and career stat (ML Total) lines on these promos are blank. The promos of Sanberg and Mack were distributed at the St. Louis card show in November of 1991 and are somewhat scarcer than the others. The card numbers are the same as in the base set.

This 90-card set was inserted at the rate of five-per Superpack. The first 45 cards are in Series One Superpacks, while the last 45 are in Series Two Supers.

===Joe DiMaggio===

Similar to the previous year's tribute to Mickey Mantle, this five-card set was inserted into Series One packs to honor of one of baseball's all-time greats, Joe DiMaggio. According to sources at Score, 30,000 of each card were produced.

===The Franchise===

This four-card features three all-time greats, Stan Musial, Mickey Mantle, and Carl Yastrzemski. Score produced 150,000 copies of each Franchise card and were randomly inserted in 1992 Score Series Two packs.

===Factory Set Inserts===

These 17 cards were inserted into each 1992 Score factory sets, and is broken down into four subsets. Cards B1-B7 capture a moment from each game of the 1991 World Series. Cards B8-B11 are Cooperstown cards, honoring future Hall of Famers. Cards B12-B14 form a "Joe D" subset paying tribute to Joe DiMaggio. Cards B15-B17, subtitled "Yaz", conclude the set by commemorating Carl Yastrzemski's heroic feats twenty-five years ago in winning the Triple Crown and lifting the Red Sox to their first American League pennant in 21 years. Each subset displayed a different front design.

The DiMaggio and Yastrzemski subsets are numbered on the back within each subset (e.g., "1 of 3") and as a part of the 17-card insert set (e.g., "B1"). In the DiMaggio and Yastrzemski subsets, Score varied the insert set slightly in retail versus hobby factory sets. In the hobby set, the DiMaggio cards display different black-and-white photos that are bordered beneath by a dark blue stripe (the stripe is green in the retail factory insert). On the backs, these hobby inserts have a red stripe at the bottom; the same stripe is dark blue on the retail inserts. The Yastrzemski cards in the hobby set have different color photos on their fronts than the retail inserts.

===Joe DiMaggio Autograph===

Score had Joe DiMaggio autograph 2500 cards from his Series One insert set. The first 2495 were randomly seeded into Series One packs, the final five were given away in a promotion.

===The Franchise Autograph===

Randomly seeded into Series Two packs, this four card set is an autographed parallel of The Franchise insert set. Each player signed 2000 copies of their own card in blue ink (which is prone to fading) and 500 in gold ink of card #4; however, it appears that both Musial and Yastremzki signed their individual cards in both blue and gold ink. The triple autographed card #4 is recognized as one of the touchstone cards in the development of certified autograph trading cards within the modern era.

===Chuck Knoblauch Autograph===

In one of the first instances of a "buy-back," Score had Chuck Knoblauch autograph 3000 copies of his own 1990 Score Rookie Card. 2989 were randomly inserted in Series Two packs, while the other 11 were given away in a sweepstakes. The backs of these Knoblauch autograph cards have special holograms to differentiate them.
