Cardboard Connection Radio Set of the Week
1984 Fleer Update is a 132-card, Hobby-exclusive, update set. This set was Fleer's first attempt at a Topps Traded-like update set and like Topps Traded, the cards were distributed exclusively through Fleer's Hobby dealer network and only available as a factory set. The set was quite popular with collectors, and, apparently, the print run was relatively short (believed to be around 12,000 sets).

The key XRCs in this set are Roger Clemens, Dwight Gooden, Kirby Puckett, and Bret Saberhagen. The XRC class coupled with the small print run, have made '84 Fleer Update one of the landmark products of the 80s.

Collectors are advised to be careful if purchasing single cards of Clemens, Darling, Gooden, Puckett, Rose, or Saberhagen as these specific cards have been illegally reprinted. These fakes are blurry when compared to the real cards and have noticeably different printing dot patterns under 8X or greater magnification. Also, 1984 Fleer Update cards (genuine ones) are notoriously tough to find perfectly centered.

2014 Stadium Club is a 200-card set released on October 1, 2014. This is the first Stadium Club set issued since the much-maligned 2008 edition.

The product will be packaged similarly to Finest with three 6-pack mini boxes in every Hobby box. Each mini box will yield an autograph, two parallels and two inserts.

2014 Bowman Chrome is a 220-card set, supplemented by a 100-card Prospects insert set, released the week of September 24, 2014. For the first time, each 18-pack Hobby box will yield two autographs; while the new Jumbo boxes will have five autographs.

2014 Panini Immaculate is a 147-card set released September 21, 2014. Each six-card box will contain five autographs or game-used cards and one base card or parallel. Every card in the product is serial-numbered to 99 copies or less.

By our calculations, only 11,500 boxes were produced.

2014 Triple Threads is a 141-card set released by Topps on September 10, 2014. As in previous year's each seven-card pack will yield three base cards, two serial-numbered parallels, a serial-numbered Relic card, and an Autographed Relic card.

2014 Topps Chrome is a 220-card set released August 27. Each 24-pack Hobby box will yield two autographs. New for 2014 are Jumbo packs, with each 12-pack Hobby-exclusive Jumbo box containing up to five autographs.

2014 Finest is a 100-card set relased August 13, 2014. Each six-pack mini-box will yield an autograph; while two mini-boxes will make up a Hobby Master Box.

The second series of 2014 Donruss was released August 5, 2014. This was the first "Donruss Baseball" set in nine years; however, bears little resemblance to the "flagship" brand it had been. Instead, Panini decided to reconfigure Donruss into a "retro" style product. Each 24-pack Hobby is expected to yield two autographs and a game-used card.

2014 Bowman Platinum is a 100 card set supplemented by a 100 card Prospects "insert," and was released the week of July 30th, 2014. Each 20-pack Hobby box will yield two autographs and an autographed Relic.

2014 Topps Mini, a 660-card set, was released to the hobby during the National Sports Collector's Convention which was held from July 30-Aug 3, 2014. Wax boxes were only available for purchase at the Topps booth. Each wax box contains one autograph or relic card.

2014 Topps Allen & Ginter's, a 350-card set, was released to the hobby on July 9th and to retail outlets a few days prior. Similar to prior years, hobby boxes contain 24 packs and include autographs and relics from athletes, celebrities and notable personalities.

2014 Panini Golden Age is a 150-card set, released in July, 2014. Each pack will contain one mini-sized parallel, and each 24-pack Hobby box will yield one Autograph, one memorabilia card, and one over-sized box topper.

2014 Bowman Inception was released the week of June 18, 2014. As with the previous year's version of the product, there is no base set in the traditional sense. Each five card pack contains four autographs and an autographed relic card.

2014 Topps Series Two, a 330-card set, was released to retail outlets on or near June 9, 2014.

2014 Topps Archives is a 250-card set released the week of May 28th, 2014. As in previous years, the product recycles Topps designs from the past in both the base set and inserts. The product is notable for the inclusion of cards and autographs from cast members of the 1989 film Major League.

2014 Panini Prizm is a 210-card chromium stock set released May 22, 2014. The product includes significantly more Prizm parallels that in year's past, and the odds of finding an autograph have been reduced to 1:6/packs. The last ten cards in the base set make of a "Highlights" subset, and are all short-printed. Each 12-pack Hobby box is expected to yield six Prizm parallels (at least three being serial-numbered) and two autographs (one of which is signed on-card).

2014 Bowman was released on April 30, 2014. Similar to previous Bowman releases, the base set contains 220 cards, the Propects insert set contains 110 cards and there are the usual slew of colored parallels. Hobby boxes contain 24 10-card packs. Jumbo boxes yield 12 32-card.

2014 Topps Gypsy Queen, a 350-card set, was released on April 10, 2014. Each 10-card pack will contain one mini parallel and each 24-pack Hobby box is expected to yield two autographs, one standard-sized Relic, a mini-sized Relic, and a 10-card box of additional minis.

2014 Topps Opening Day, a 220-card set, was released March 18, 2014. Like previous years, the 2014 Opening Day base set mimics the 2014 Topps Series One design at an affordable price. Each 99-cent pack contains seven cards, one of which is an insert. Added this year are relic cards of ten different players.

2014 Topps Heritage is a 500-card set released March 14, 2014. In its 14th year, 2014 Heritage is based on the "pennant" design of the 1965 Topps set. Each 24-pack Hobby box should yield one autograph or Relic card, one over-sized box topper, eight short-printed base cards, and nine inserts.

2014 Topps Series One was released, both to retail outlets and hobby shops, during the last week in January 2014. Each hobby will yield an autograph. Similar to 2013, short-printed and super short-printed variations exist along with the slew of inserts, relics and manufactured patch cards.

2013 Topps Supreme, released in mid-December only in Asia, promises two autographs per box.

2013 Topps Five Star is a 100-card set released on December 5th. Similar to the previous year's product, each six-card box will yield: One base card or parallel, one Relic, two autographs, either a third autograph or an autographed patch card, either an autographed "book" card or a Silver Signatures card.

2013 Topps Heritage High-Number Series, a 100-card factory set, was released during the last week of November 2013. Each factory set, which were sold directly from shoptopps.com for $100 each, contains 100 base cards and one autographed card.
