This 10-card set showcases the top 1994 rookies. The fronts are designed much like the Limited Rookies basic set cards except the card is comprised of gbronze foil instead of silver on the front. Each card is serial-numbered to 5000 copies.  The Alex Rodriguez card, primarily because of it's status as one of A-Rod's earliest serial-numbered MLB-licensed issues (coupled with high-end production qualities and a known print run) has become one of the more desirable cards issued in the 1990's -- despite it not being a "true" rookie card. Collectors should take caution of trimmed copies when purchasing this card in "raw" form.

Description

1994 Leaf Limited Rookies is an 80-card set distributed exclusively to Hobby dealers in November, 1994. The design is identical to that of the 1994 Leaf Limited set. Only 30,000 serial-numbered 20-pack waxboxes were produced.

Despite the name, the set suffers from a lack of "true" rookie cards. This has more to do with Donruss' decision to pull ten rookies (including Alex Rodriguez) out of the base set and include them exclusively in the "Phenoms" insert.

Distribution

20 packs per box, five cards per pack (MSRP: $4.99). 30,000 boxes produced.

This ten-card set showcases the top 1994 rookies. The fronts are designed much like the Limited Rookies basic set cards except the card is comprised of bronze foil instead of silver on the front.
