Description

1961 Fleer Baseball Greats (ACC Catalog Number: F418-3) is a 154-card set released in two series of 88 and 66 cards -- the second series being noticeably tougher than the first. Shut out by Topps monopoly on player contracts and desperate to find some toe-hold in the baseball card business, Fleer issued this set consisting of "Baseball Greats." Needless to say, the youth of 1961 were not interested in baseball cards of former (and in many cases, dead) players and the product did not sell well.

The product remains a way for collectors to acquire affordable, colorful, vintage cards of Hall of Fame players.

Distribution

24 packs per box, five cards plus one sticker and one pennant per pack (MSRP: $0.05).
